OUR PROGRAMS

Although we do everything we can to make learning Spanish fun, we take Spanish for children very seriously. Exposing a child to a second language allows him or her to optimize their learning potential. Standardized testing has shown that Elementary students who studied a foreign language scored higher on tests in reading, math, and language arts.

Young children are ideally suited to learn a second language - cognitively, it as easy as learning a first language. Children who have learned a foreign language show greater cognitive development in mental flexibility, creativity, reasoning, and problem-solving. Our Spanish for Kids resources provide everything a child needs to quickly learn Spanish, including over 100 Spanish games to make studying Spanish fun! Learning Spanish for kids can be approached in many different ways as opposed to learning math, which must be done through working math problems. This ability to learn in a variety of ways allows us to create a variety of resources that teach in multiple ways. Spanish for children introduces Spanish in a way that kids will truly enjoy. It is very important for a child to learn the Spanish alphabet.

In comparison to monolinguals, children who speak both Spanish and English have been shown to have sharper memories and better listening skills. Our Spanish lessons for children will significantly improve your child's cognitive abilities and provide numerous personal benefits. All our Learning Spanish for Kids resources incorporate the multi-sensory cognitive learning theory, developed by a Carnegie-Mellon University researcher, for faster and deeper learning. Academic Enrichment
If you’re thinking about continuing your studies with us or if you’re a new student, you can register for our Courses. We have a wide variety of formats and levels, and all courses are taught by native Spanish-speaking instructors from Spain and Latin America. Please see our Schedule.
Spanish courses

10-Week regular courses. Classes meet once a week for 3 hours each day or twice a week for 1 1/2 hours each day.

5-Week Intensive I courses . Classes meet three times a week for 3 hours each day.

5-Week Intensive II courses. Classes meet two times a week for 3 hours each day.
Espanol in SG teaches Spanish to enable students to communicate at all levels and in different situations throughout the Spanish speaking world. Our teaching methodology is based on the latest research on teaching/learning foreign languages. With a hands-on approach, students are able to use the language in meaningful contexts from the early stages.Our class allows teachers to give students a great deal of individualized attention.
Teachers are highly qualified in Spanish, Linguistics and other areas related to the teaching of the language. They all have specific training on how to teach Spanish as a foreign language and Spanish for Spanish speakers.

Daily After School Care

The Afterschool Spanish program is a learning journey for kids in grades Kinder through 5th. Our program can be customized to fit the needs of the students and parents and is an opportunity to engage kids in learning about the Spanish language and the cultures of the countries where Spanish is spoken.
Using best practices from a variety of second-language teaching strategies, we provide a foundation of basic Spanish phrases and vocabulary. Through movement, Total Physical Response, song, music, art, and reading and listening activities, our students learn to speak, read, write, and love the Spanish language.
The biggest goal of our program is to expose our students to the language in an engaging, play- and project-based environment. Our teachers are native or near-native speakers, or have minors or majors in Spanish – and they are all passionate about the language.
They all have previous teaching experience and receive ongoing training in classroom management and effective teaching strategies. No previous knowledge of the Spanish language is necessary. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are!
Private Classes
Espanol in SG also offers high-quality private Spanish instruction at all levels. Lessons are tailored to address the particular needs of the individual(s) and can take place at Espanol in SG or at your home. Lessons range from one-on-one to groups of up to 10 students.

A schedule must be created before the start of the course.

Rescheduling is only permitted with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Full payment must be received before starting sessions.
Duration
From the time of registration, student will have 3 months in which to complete the scheduled classes. Once this time period is up, the course will be considered over and any remaining class sessions will be forfeited.
